Site service settings for Web Hosting
The Site Template Overview page displays general information about the site template. The Web Hosting area on the page displays the following Web Hosting options specified for the site template.
To view the Web Hosting service options for an site:
On the View Site wizard, choose the Web Hosting service.
The Web Hosting area displays the following information.
General for Service
Maximum Bandwidth: The maximum bandwidth usage allocated to an site.
Maximum Disk Space Allowed: The maximum disk space allocated to an site.
IIS Web Service
Features to Enable area:
Microsoft .NET Applications: This enables support for .NET applications on the Web site.
Select the Enable Default SSL certificate (For IP-based Sites Only) check box to enable a default SSL certificate for the site.
SSL Secure Web Server Access (for IP-based Sites only): This enables management of SSL certificates and provides HTTPS connection to the Web site.
Server Side Includes: This enables support for SSI scripts with .shtm, .shtml and .stm extensions.
Web Site Logging: Selecting this enables IIS Web site logging.
Web Site Name Aliasing (Host Headers): This enables management of Host Headers.
Maximum Number of Subdomains Allowed: This maximum number of Subdomains allowed to be created.
Feature Configurations area
Selected Log File Format: List of available file formats.
Web Server Connection Timeout: The time interval in Seconds after which the Web server disconnects an idle client (browser).
Maximum Number of Connections Allowed: The maximum number of simultaneous connections allowed.
Expected Number of Hits Per Day: The number of hits expected per day.
Enable Reverse DNS Lookup: This performs reverser DNS lookup to get the name of the client machine in Log files.
Quality of Service / Service Level Agreement area
Enable Control of CPU Usage:
Maximum CPU Usage Allowed: The maximum percentage of CPU time that IIS is allowed to consume to serve Web requests for your Web site.
Enable Control of Bandwidth Usage:
Maximum Bandwidth Usage Allowed: The maximum bandwidth that IIS is allowed to consume to serve Web requests for your Web site.
Web Site Visitor Permissions area
Allow Site Browsing (Read): If checked, the site visitor has read access and can browse the Web site.
Allow Content Modification (Write): If checked, the site visitor has write access and can modify the contents of the Web site using HTTP PUT protocol.
Allow Directory Browsing: If checked, the site visitor is allowed to see a hypertext listing of the files and sub-directories in this virtual directory.
Application Settings area
File Execute Permissions: This displays the appropriate level of script execution
Disallow Scripts and Executables: Denotes that running of scripts, such as ASP applications, or executables on the server is disabled.
Allow Scripts only: Denotes running only scripts, such as ASP applications, on the server is permitted.
Allow Scripts and Executables (CGI): Denotes that running both scripts, such as ASP applications, and executables on the server is permitted.
Application Protection Level: Denotes the level of protection for the applications on the server.
Low (IIS Process) - The applications are running in the same process as Web services.
Medium (Pooled) - The applications are running as an isolated pooled process in which other applications are also run.
High (Isolated)- The applications are running as an isolated process separate from other processes.
IIS FTP Service Component
Select the Allow Anonymous Connections check box, to allow an anonymous users to access the IIS FTP server.
In the Maximum Number of Connections Allowed text box, enter a value for the number of simultaneous connections allowed at any given point in time.
In the Server Connection Timeout text box, enter the time (in seconds) to disconnect an inactive user from the server.
Select the Enable Logging check box, to enable FTP site logging.
Select Log Type: Select the log type from the list of log file formats.
FTP User Account Information area
In the Maximum number of FTP User Accounts text box, enter a value for the maximum number of FTP users that can be created.
Site Visitors Permissions area
Select the Allow File Download (Read) check box, to allow the users to download files and list directories.
Select the Allow File Upload (Write) check box, to allow the users to upload files.
Text of Site Messages area
In the Welcome Message Text box, enter the message displayed when the user logs on to the FTP Server.
In the Exit Message Text box, enter the message displayed when the users logs off from the FTP Server.
In the Maximum Connections Exceeded Message Text box, enter the message displayed when the limit for the maximum number of client connections to the FTP service is reached.
FrontPage Server Extensions 2002
Options area
Authoring Enabled: This represents that the administrator can log on through FrontPage. If authoring is not enabled, the account is disabled, and it cannot be used to log on.
Require Secure Communication (HTTPS)(For IP-based Only): If checked it requires HTTPS connection for authorization.
In the Email Form Recipient’s Address text box, enter the email address that users must write to if they have problems. The address you enter will appear in email messages sent by certain components in FrontPage, such as email forms.
In the Email Form Sender’s Address text box, enter the email address that you want to appear in the From line of email messages sent by certain components in FrontPage, such as email forms.
SMTP server for Email Forms [ Host:Port ]: The name of the SMTP host that FrontPage email forms will use to send emails.
Urchin: Is displayed if Urchin is enabled for the template.
ODBC Service Component
Maximum Number of SQL Data Sources Allowed: The total number of SQL data sources.
Maximum Number of Access Data Sources Allowed: The total number of Access data sources.
File Manager: Is displayed if File Manager is enabled for the template.
Active Perl: Is displayed if Perl is enabled for the template.
PHP: Is displayed if PHP is enabled for the template.
Note: Displays the options enabled () and disabled () for the site template.
